chipmunks / sped up audio

Ok, so this is strange... my computer at work; whenever I play any kind of audio file, it plays too fast and the pitch is shifted up. The sound is onboard the motherboard. Under the device manager I see "Legacy Audio Drivers" and "Intel(R) 82801BA-BAM AC'97 Audio Controller - 2445" which I assume is the sound (card). Anyone ever had this problem/know what to do ... I've never even heard of this kind of thing happening before.

For about a month this has been pretty funny. Now it's kind of starting to get old. Ideas?

Interesting. Is it just audio, or does straight instrumentation also do the same? The Ac 97 is a good unit in my case--maybe newest driver? (by "play" do you mean in the c-d, or downloads--or both?

Are you playing the4m through Winamp, or the like--or straight out of the hole?
