Remove Steam. Go to program files and delete the Steam folder(s). Reinstall steam and the games. Something must've gotten corrupted.

Are you talking about an error blue screen or just a plain blue screen? If its a plain one than if you changed resolutions to something unstandard to your monitor that might be the problem. If I set my CS:S source to 1600x1200 I need to go into my Videocard driver options and tell it to force resolutions otherwise I get an empty blue screen because my monitor isnt setup to display that res even though I can force it.

i got into source long enough to lower all my settings, i put everything to low as hell, and it works, but i changed a few things to medium and hl2 had an error and kicked me out. i payed enough for a good gpu, my 6600gt did better than those settings, i cant figure it out
