I'm not sure if its RAM.... I get barely any stuttering. I mean like maybe if theres 6 people on screen, but less then that, NO stuttering at all. Its just low FPS, so it must be the card being bottle necked rather than RAM.
a P4 650 should be able to get 4Ghz easy.... But mine already runs hot...
IF i can get a stable OC with Clockgen, i would make the trade of running my PC without a case to keep it cool if i had too.
And opinions om this please:
I have around £100 savings. My sister has said she will give me £100 towards upgrades for my Birthday (mid may)
I could get an opty 144 for £123 and one of these mobo's:
A8N-E nF4 Ultra £70
A8N-SLi Deluxe nF4 £108
A8N-SLi SE nF4 £76
Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe £140
I was planning to get a 165 and the A8N32-SLi later this year, but i would be willing to get a 144 just to get rid of this bottle neck ASAP. am i right in thinking the 144 OC's as well as the 165? (2.6-2.9?) but just has the smaller cache? And which board is the best OC'er of those? (or any others that can be found on overclockers.co.uk) SLi isnt a must, but i'd like it so i could got SLi if i wanted to. (i like to have new tech)
EDIT: just read the replies...
Cant OC through BIOS, its an OEM mobo -.- (yeh i know, pos)
I think it might be worth software OCing for now, just till i can get a s939.
If you think its a good setup, i might go for a new CPU and mobo for my b-day. (not much over £200 for the 2 though. preferably cheaper)
