Best memory/mem question for A8R32-MVP

Thread Starter
Hey guys, couple questions:
1) When I look at the specs for the Asus A8R32-MVP mobo, it says the highest RAM it supports is DDR400. Does that mean its useless to get any ram above PC3200? If not, what's the highest I can get that will work with this mobo (yes, I intend on OC'n to the max)

2) What is the best RAM I can get? I want to get 2 GB of ram (2 x 1 stick) and get the best gaming and OC results.

3) I currently have OCZ Platinum PC 3200 RAM, 2 gb. Will the ram you all mention give me significantly better OC results?

Thanks in advance!

The only reason I was wondering is that I was hitting an OC wall at around 230 FSB with 200mhz DDR and i wanted to go higher.

What about these two?
http://www.gskill.com/f1-4000biu2-hv.html $157.00 at newegg
http://www.gskill.com/f1-4000usu2-2gbhz.htm $265.00 at newegg

I see that the only difference between the two are the timings - do they matter that much for that huge price difference? I'm willing to bet these ram will get me a better OC, no?

Run your memory on a divider instead of a 1:1 ratio so you can push your processor a little farther. See where you can get that processor, then find a HTT where you can get the most of you cpu and memory. Run your memory at 166Mhz or similar to acheive you max overclock with your cpu.

Hypothehtically: lets say you get 2.8ghz on your cpu either way and your memory is running at the same speed regardless.

1. Is it better to have 12x multi or is the lower the better?
2. Is it better to have 200 ram or use a divider?
