if you have the cable you can put games on them and other meager programs but if you do a course that uses them it's good to have an edge so you can get work done at home when you usualy would only be able to do it in class. also if it's your own you can save templates instead of having a blank memory from when the last guy 2nd mem 7 enter 2 enter'd but it'd recomend the ti-83+ as it's prety good. isn't the ti- 89 the huge pocket organizer looking thing ? anyways my sudjestion is take two and steal the other . but that's bad so don't do that

dude I went through this whole thing at the beginning of the summer. The TI-89 Tit. is f'in amazing it does everything and anything you could want it to. don't worry... also look on ebay for one from a seller called used calculators or something I got my ti 89 tit. for $90 practically new its awesome.

why bother when everything u can do on a calculator u can also can do in a math program on a laptop or a desktop which is so much faster. i know and i agree calculators are more portable than a computer.
