I need Windows Pro for cheap - Page 2

upgrading from home to pro is a nightmare. There is alot of files that for some reason cause some issues down the road.

As was said here, most colleges can get you XP pro for cheap as can a few websites but be cautious. M$ has been cracking down on pirated software and the vendors.

Best bet is buy legit (you can actually buy from M$ now too if you have a non-legit copy and its not that expensive) or you can buy from distributors.

Even though Pro costs a little More it has much better Tools with it such as Admin Tools and is alot More stable than Home edition IMO. Plus Compatibility with alot of things i have found Pro better to use.

Yeah I think my school sells XP for $10 but then again i heard it might not work. Some did, some didn't, funny and ironic if they are selling non legit versions.

I have a student version of XP Pro on my Grandaughters computer that My stepson bought at his school $4.50, it works fine.
You can do a full install from an upgrade disk, format the HDD, then put in the upgrade disk, it will get to a point where it will ask for your original copy of windows and you will have to put the disk in the drive so it can verify you have one, once it does it will do a full clean install.
