Yes thats the cable that leads from teh dvd rom to the motherboard try changing it for another a new one if posible

Only have one.. By the way does it matter which end is in which connector ? Because it didnt say on the cable ..

Yeah it does Suck but it does sound like your Drive has died.

So whats wrong with it..? My sound and LAN ports dont work so I wanna get the drivers going as soon as possible. Can i download the drivers from ASUS´s website instead of using the CD ?

Yes, you can, but I have had problems with their site. As for the dirve, does Windows detect it? Does it show up in Device Manager? If not, make sure that it is on the last plug on the cable and that the jumper on the drive is set to "master".

Yes you can get the Updated drivers from the site.

When it doesnt Detect that either means its not getting any power or the IDE is not connected but if they are thats a tell tale of a dead drive.
