7800gs

Thread Starter
Im looking for a good 7800GS card at a good price..Ive heard that people have been having problems with theirs from makers like Evga. I dont know what maker I should buy from. I dont want to get it to my home and then have problems with in..Because its been to much trouble trying to get my wife to let me buy it in the first place. Im upgrading to a 400w power supply also because I have a 300w now..But I dont see the Difference between the $15 ones and the $100 ones. So what one should I get?

My systems down below VVVVVV. I just want everything to run smoothly.

As you are running a Socket A system your PSU requirements are not as high as a P4 or AMD64 rig. The reason for opting for the more expensive PSU's is to ensure that even when overclocked you do not get voltage droop or insufficient amps to the board. You should be ok with a 400watt antec imo.

As for Gfx cards my clan mate has just got the xfx 7800gs and he has no probs with his

Im happy with my XFX card, dont get much(none) in the way of games bundle
Yep, make sure you budget for a PSU, i recon 400-430 would be plenty!!
dont go for a cheapo one either!! another point!! try to get one that you can dissconnect the leads you dont require (at the time!! )
I got a tagan 480-u22 and the inside of my case is looking like when Indianna Jones finds the ark with all those lovely snakes!!!
you do get rather alot of connectors on these new psus!!
4 Molex,4 Sata,2 P4 power connectors, 2 SLI, a molex for GFX card and the big bugger thats got 24pins!!!
they do provide some velcro strips to help tidy them up!!

I have a BFG 7800GS and i love it. No problems what so ever. And you can't go wrong with a lifetime warranty. I would recommend getting a BFG card.
