Simple OC question on FX-60

Thread Starter
I need the fastest processing PC possible. It's for my boss's network, it will run as a server.

Here's what I'm thinking,

550w
120mm case fan
A8N32 SLI-Deluxe
FX-60
2GB OCZ Titanium RAM
10k Raptor Hard Drives
Grfx and sound not important

Now the question:
Can I just bump up the multiplier to x14 and achieve 2.8ghz smoothly?
or do I need to adjust RAM timings or voltage or anything else?
I have never overclocked and I'm just wondering if it will run flawlessly on air cooling. Is it that simple?

you should be able to achieve 2.8 fairly smooth its only a 200MHz increse probably wont need to do much with timings or Vcore

Yeah You should just adjust the multi which would be a simple way of increasing the performance. I dont think there is any stability issues associated with doing this.

Just keep an eye on temps.

Hope that helps

Yep that would be the simplest way of overclocking.

you should target at least 3.2 + Ghz with the FX60... and yes, you can just move up the muti with FX's, and this is why they are so expensive. it should be nice to OC without worrying about mem divider things like that.

for FX CPU and only FX CPU can move the multi up. our cpu only can move the multi down, not up.

get big typhoon and panasonic high performance fan. it should lower your temp by 5 degree more. once the temp in control, there is more head room to push further.
