I personally like EVGA, but XFX, I hear is pretty good too.
would this be better than XFX Geforce 7600GS?

I was just about to post that one for you. Free copy of Tomb Raider to boot. I would assume it would be better than the 6600GT but I am not sure.

I think it comes down to this...
6600GT - $127
8 pixelpipeline
GDDR3 memory

7600GS - $135
12 pixelpipeline
GDD2 memory

I'm gaining 4 more pixelpipeline by going to 7600GS but losing speed in memory from GDDR3 to GDDR2. also I think 7600GS has the new SM3.0. so what you guys think? the price is only $8 difference.

7600GS, mainly because it has newer technology.

Edit: Also has no fan on the heatsink, so it is perfect for an HTPC.

7600GS, for the price difference, or the lack of, 7600 is the best bang for the buck!

i agree with maxima also,

because of the newer technology and the pipes go with the 7600gs

the GDDR2 memory on it isnt bad at all, the 7600gs kind of makes up for it in pipes also, plus the sm3 so go for it
