Tight supplies of DRAM and predictions of higher prices mean PCs capable of running Vista may be even more expensive when the operating system is unveiled than if it released today.

This Vista,
no matter how cool it may be touted sure is going to push the legacy OS's users back into the dark ages. W98 - WXP was nothing compared to what this thing will do. Not to mention the 20 versions? Theres no way I will upgrade until CONROE has been out for 3mo's!

I understand the price rise completely. Many major corporations took many of the RAM manufacturers to court for price fixing. Their claim is that they were putting a price on something that was readily available and very inexpensive to produce. I feel that when they caved in and payed the fine, they simply turned the manufacturing plant down to "molasses" mode there-by making their prices now valid. <-- Regardless if that's completely true or not, it angers me because I know it CAN and SHOULD be cheaper and there should be MOUNTAINS of chips. It's such complete bullshhh. Oh well.

If you want to read up on some of the cases, here's one for you:
