You wouldn't get the GPU any more memory then the current one? That's insane IMO. Also, why would you use XDR RAM? I don't think a new console would have that.

A console system, as has been explained, doesn't need as much RAM, only faster RAM. XDR2 beats GDDR5 I believe, although I don't even remember putting GDDR6 in my post. -,-

seriously though, they should put in a BIOS so you can overclock it >
They did this already, we call it the PC

My PS4 would have a Cell processor but with 4 physical cores, each with 1mb of L2 cache and 16 slave cores. I would then give it a slot where you can upgrade the ram with laptop ram, like 2gb SO-DIMM. The GPU should have an interchangeable GPU so you can switch from different versions, like one with 400 cuda cores and another with less but clocked higher. The console is becoming into a PC just built for gaming. So sony might as well sell a bare-bone PC with their own branding on gpu's, ram, processors, etc.

My PS4 would be sold for a greater good, an i9 GTX 680 Gaming Rig

If I could design the next Sony Playstation..........I would keep developers in mind before going Gung Ho on releasing advanced technology that developers find expensive and a burden to program for. I would also bring back the retro idea of solid state cartridges but design the cartridge to be as small as a gameboy cartridge or sd card that had a unique body and compact.. (Yes I've heard that it may be a bit more costly to print and press chips/cartridges....but, in the long run...money may possibly be saved by reducing the ability to pirate it in a non traditional form factor.) I would also design the controller to have a more manly weight/size for man hands like the 360 controller. I would focus less on making the console a home media center and make it my agenda to be a gaming console first. I would eliminate the use of a Bluetooth headset and would make sure there was cross game chat. I would enforce standards that all developers must adhere to instead of leaving some things as optional to developers such as, xmb music while game play, six axis, etc.... I would not abandoned great ideas such as the Sony Eyetoy only to let competitors take off with a similar device, then go backwards with PS move.

OS Linux
Cpu 1x Dual with 3600 for OS operations and a 8 core CPU with 3600+ for anything else
PPU possibly with a good GPU or a at least medium GPU for good PPU
GPU a good 640+MB GPU with at least 48+ ROP , memory 320bit
RAM at least half speed of the memory of the GPU but with at least 3ms BTB a dual of 512 or 1024

RAM is not used in gaming , since all heat goes on GPU memory , that's why GPU memory has less then 1ms latency

still i came to OCN , since i wasn't here lately , to find out how the PS4 will be since youtube is full of ..... like always

I may be wrong , if i am , feel free to insult me in a pm , no offense taken.

Cheers too all grouphug.gif

P.S i seen some videos og games on console that either Xbox or PS3 could not take it , maybe there is a ps4 already , no idea , youtube sucks as always frown.gif
