updating drivers

Thread Starter
ok im getting frustrated. in an earlier thread i explain that my computer doesnt like steam. i have run prime, sp2004x2, memtest86... ive played f.e.a.r, ran 3dmark, aquamark, regular computer stuff, but evertime i launch a game from steam, it crashes, or my entire compy crashes. i have unistalled the games, steam and valve individually, reinstalled them 2 times, and still crashes. i think it must be a problem with my gpu drivers, so i want to wipe them and update them.
last time i attempted this, on my parents computer, i wiped the driver, and the screen went dead. so i guess what i need is a how to on wiping and reinstalling the drivers, without a floppy if at all possible. and when i do this, what drivers should i use?
thank you all for helping, i always rep for helpful responses.

To uninstall use Driver Cleaner Pro (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/U...essional.shtml). Then you restart, install, then restart again and you should be set.

I would just use the newest drivers you find. I use 84.25 they seam to be great drivers but, any newer ones will do just fine.

Yes, the picture will just bump into a ****ty look for the reboot. After the second reboot, it will look normal again. What happens is it will then use the windows default drivers instead of the Nvidia official drivers.

Yes when there are No Drivers on the system for Specific hardware Windows goes into Normal VGA mode where the resolution is very poor..Once you instal drivers and reboot you will be fine..Remember to use driver cleaner though.
