Lcd Vs. Plazma - Page 4

Congratulations,
Have you set it all up and played any DVDs Games etc..?

I bought my wife a 38" just for her and kids to play games and it's awesome to watch her and the kids play. I can sit at my PC's and they at there consoles and I occasionally play through the PC.

I was wondering why a DLP was not in the cards?

DLPs have superb picture quality but they are not thin enough to be wall mounted as pcharouz wants, so in that case there is NO reason to get a Plasma at all, LCDs are better in pretty much every regard, and believe me, NEVER cheap out on a TV since you will have that TV for many years you will want to get the best quality possible, now I know all of my TVs are CRT but I have this one Sony that is older than I am (parents bought it before I was born) its about 17 years old now I think and it still has a better picture than our 5 year old Panasonic and 8 year old RCA sets and still has the best colors, now I'm not sure but I THINK a Sony would have cost more than a similar RCA and/or Panasonic even if they had been bought at the same time.

LCDs in big size's are usually more costly than Plasma's at the same size cause large screen size production with LCD usually cost more but prices are coming down a lot more nowadays.

I say go for LCD, I got a nice 32" samsung HDTV-LCD with intergrated Digital
tuner, its wonderfull!!!

Same here, I have the 42" model, had it for about 6 months now. I got mine for $1500 on sale at Circut City (course, after tax, monster componant cables, monster power supply and 2 year warrenty, it was like $2000 LOL)

My scores in HALO 2 went up like 15%, and yeah, racing games like GT4 and Forza Motorsports are awesome.
