wireless on linux

One of my friends has suse 10.1 and he wants a pci 54g wireless nic that will work nicely with linux. i've noticed broadcom-chipset based wireless nics have probs with compatibility in linux...

Alright, I think I found your solution with a little googling. First thing's first type the following command in console.

Tell me what that reads after running it and I can instruct you from there.

So, are you asking for suggestions on 802.11g PCI adapters?

I personally recommend things with Atheros chips. They're supported out of the box (on FreeBSD, anyway). PCI Atheros cards include (list copied and pasted from the ath(4) FreeBSD manpage):

Or i can just string a 50ft ethernet cable from my bedroom to my den thru the attic, which would be cheaper. Thx anyway guys!
