I was considering buying triple channel ram for my socket 775 motherboard when i noticed that my board does not support that but cant it still be used as 6 gigs of ram? or something?

I think that all sticks will run in single channel mode.

Yes, it should run in Flex Mode.... 2 DIMMs in dual channel and 1 DIMM in single channel.

cause i want 6gb of ram but all the same brand and stuff whats the difference between the single and double channel ram? is there performance wise difference or something or do they work together???

Yea, it runs in flex mode. IIRC 4GB will run in dual channel while the other 2GB won't
