Think my Prescott 630 is running too hot - Page 2

That's a common problem with a lot of boards. Everything works fine until you put that last stick into the 4th slot. Are those sticks all matching pairs? If so, are they aligned properly in the correct corresponding slots? (i.e. matching pair "aa" and "bb" will be organized as "ab" "ab" in slots 12 34).

1st try swapping the ram with each other ..bank 1 -> bank 3 etc, sumtimes this helps. also if that dosnt wurk, increase the voltage on the ram, ocz tests all ram modules that r ddr2 at 2.0v even though boards by default run them at 1.8v. and anothr thing..75c r u serious? ur cooling device is definitly NOT on there right bud. u will never see temps like that on a 200mhz overclock for a processor even w/ stok coolr on there.

Is there a way to tell if they are matching? I got them mixed up when I was putting it all together.

The tags have product numbers if anything. Try to match those up.

Or you can use CPU-Z to see if they're matching pairs.

That last one could be knackered!!
have you tried that one on its own?
I have 3 sticks of compaq pc2700 one of them gives similar errors if I plug it in, I have another 2 sticks of generic pc3200. With all four slots filled everything runs upto 400mhz fine!
