The i5-760 OC Club - Page 11

Hello everyone. After picking up some great tips, and fantastic help from sizzzle I tried editing my previous overclockers profile to lower the vcore volts, QPI frequency to 32, enabled LL Cal, disabled the usual suspects; Turbo, C1E, EIST.

It was late last night so this is only after 3 blend tests, which are still running now:

Problem I have is that the profile I edited was pretty awful, and I have a feeling it still is.

191x21
Vcore was 1.4V, I moved it down to 1.38V ---- still too high?
QPI/IMC was set to AUTO ---- I've left it on that, but not happy with it.
CPU PLL was set to AUTO ---- Again, I've left this, but not happy with it.
DRAM set to 1.6V ---- I've left this as is.

32-36 degrees idle.

I Finally made it stable
166x 21 = 3.48Ghz
Boosted by Intel, Turbo Boost, C1E, and EIST enabled
LLC set to auto
CPU Vcore auto
qpi/vtt 1.35v
PCH Core 1.05v
CPU PLL 1.8v
DRAM 1.56v

After a few testings and restarts, unfortunately, it was found to be not really stable. So i fixed the CPU Vcore instead of Auto. made it to 1.375v
CPU-Z ID up to 165x25 TESTED in REAL TIME applications

Were you using 2:8 mem ratio for this? I had 166x21 running stable last night following advice from Sizzzle but couldn't for the life of me get it stable at 2:10

I am using 2:10 FSB ratio if you look at the CPU-Z ID memory at my desktop screenshot yes it's stable because i have a G.Skill ECO-Silver RAM 1.35v
Try setting your DRAM voltage to 1.64 or 1.65v and raise your QPI/VTT to at most 1.4v

Hey guys be careful with your DIMM voltage, I think I might have to RMA my CPU. I will know tomorrow morning.

Just FYI, running Turbo Boost at higher speeds can cause major voltage boosts when running 2 or 1 threaded apps. Run a stress test with only 1 or 2 threads and watch your voltage. I was surprised to see my 1.35v rocket to 1.41, so I would be careful running 1.375 with Turbo.

Don't leave us hanging..DIMM Voltage = RMA CPU . Were you over .5v Difference between DIMM and VTT ?
