My thinking in making it intake at the top was that it would suck in cool air instead of sucking in warm air from the graphics card and hard drives..

Thought's on that? I have a phantom case if you feel like recommending air flow options?

that 150MHz difference is really irrelevent.... If you get 10c lower from it, just stay there....

4.0 vs 4.1 is really a wash, your not going to notice the difference...

Well i think i've settled for 4.017 Ghz. I had a higher overclock that was stable, but i started tampering and didn't have all the settings wrote down.. And with the temps I have now I wonder how I ever got stable at 4.166?

Anyways temps maxed out at 79 and averaged 73-74 on the new overclock.
I guess I'll have to be happy. Now to overclock the RAM...

Still if anybody knows why my temps could be so horrible please let me know!

You might just have a hot chip.
And it's because you only have a single rad, with stock fans. And your water maybe be a little warm, or may even have air bubbles. Numerous reasons.
Just wondering, what are temps like at stock?

Also waiting for OP to update my OC. >.>

I know I only have a single rad and stock fans, my water isn't any warmer than my house would make it.. 74F isn't that hot..
I've gotten all the air out that I can.

and by stock do you mean like with the speed step and stuff enabled or disabled?

Water cooling isn't drastically better unless you have multiple rads and good fans.

By stock, I mean default everything.

It should have lowered temps by at least 10C otherwise there was no point in getting it..

I went from a Lapped TRUE with Push/Pull to DD Pump> BlackIce 240 Rad(2 HF Yate Loons)> HeatKiller 3.0> Swiftech Micro Res, all running through 3/4 OD - 5/8 ID tubing. This was back on my Q6600.

It dropped my load temps 10c, idle were a couple c lower, but not much.

Having problems with my Overclock for the second time. It was around 14 weeks stable when I turned it one day and it didn't POST... Got it working about 10 minutes later.

Around 20 weeks after this the same thing happened but it doesn't seem to want to boot at all with that overclock now.

I'm heavily into gaming so it's not as though for all these months it's been running poorly - it's been brilliant.

Quite confused as to why it won't post all of a sudden -- can Dust inside the case cause any issues at all? There's no problem with the CPU temp though, it's at 32deg max whilst gaming without the OC, perfectly normal.

I came from a A70 air cooler, My temps should have been a lot better on water cooling...

I did some work to it yesterday and it seemed to help by a degree or two.
I made sure the water block was clean because others had said that theirs were dirty. Then I made sure and give it thermal paste and didn't tighten it down all the way because I was getting marks on the block from where the cpu was hitting it....

Seems to be working pretty well, but i made up for the small decrease in speed by getting my ram timings down to 6-7-6-24!!

It could be that your OC has become no longer stable (motherboards/chips will need higher voltage over time), and you need to raise the voltages a little.
But that is odd. I haven't heard that happen before.

Water cooling isn't all it's cracked up to be, eh?

Those are some sweet timings. What is the speed?
