Shooting for 4.4, but even with 1.50v I couldnt get pas windows load screen without a BSOD...

May try loosening my ram timings tomorrow, it runs the ram at 1680 at that bclk...

clocks a little better than I expected tho...

PS: doing it all on air too, temps are reasonable, but I am not going to try IBT or anything lol
in XP, can you get stable at 4.5 or so?
in xp i can run my 750 @ 4599.1 but needs a lot of vcore (1.59v)

I was aiming for 4.2ghz, but if it wasn't for my really crappy temperatures I could have hit it...
at 4ghz, my temps are in the 80s...

I reached my goal speed of 4.0ghz in a day, stable after a few days. I used Prime95 for about 10hrs, the highest temps were 77. I'm now trying to get more stable as intelburn test wont pass when I leave the default test of 5 runs, it will only pass 3. Here's a validation from CPUID
and I want to thank all of the users who help us get better at doing overclocks.
BTW, I'm really happy with the i5 760 I upgraded to it from an E5200.

^-- That's a nice validation. Taking a wild guess I'm assuming you are running Small fft's for 10 hours but then can't pass IBT. IBT puts more pressure on the memory. Vcore is probably fine or close too at least. Just need the find the instability on the uncore side of things. VTT/ Dram Voltage ?? Push for 20 passes on max then run Prime 95 Blend.

I'm actually running the Prime95 blend test. The small fft's test, it would pass even when not stable enough. These are my voltage settings:
VCore - 1.24375V
QPI/VTT - 1.250V
PCH Core - 1.120V
CPU PLL - 1.860V

I have always preferred a Prime95 Blend for a long period over most other tests..

I run it about 10 - 12 hours to consider my OC stable... Been a few months now without a single issue...

If it will pass small FFTs, but fail on Blend, then it's -usually- RAM instability.

Small FFTs only use ~100mbs of RAM. Blend will use around 2GB. Myself, I use custom settings, and have Prime use around 3200mb.

Odd that you can pass blend but fail 5 passes of IBT. I use IBT as a pre-Prime 95 test. IBT does warm things up quite a bit more, with that and your cooler choice I'm thinking maybe you are having heat related issues while running IBT.

As another thought, are you sure you need the PCH & PLL raised ? Rasing PCH would be a last resort for me. My understanding that raising this can heat up the chipset very quickly and most of the time won't do much for you other than make things less stable. Try this:

PCH - 1.05v
PLL - 1.80v or lower.

Also in IBT set the threads yourself instead of leaving it in auto. Monitor temps in Realtemp, HWMonitor, or Coretemp. 5 passes of standard should be a piece of cake after running 10 hours of Prime 95 Blend.

I can run any oc at these settings... PCH & PLL dont seem to affect stability, I am 100% stable at 200 x 20 with 1.80 PLL & 1.050 PCH..

Can also post and bench at 200 x 21 & 205 x 21 with those....

Only volts you really need adjustment on are the CPU & VTT... Higher bclk = higher vtt..
