Thanx will try that now that the system is more stable, and about IBT you might have a point because I've ran the test after prime95

Ok, so I got around to making those changes now since I really wasn't doing much but reading school material. I passed IBT on high set to 4 threads with 5 runs. Now I'm gonna do the Prime 95 and I'm gonna be reading for a while so that should get me an idea how stable my system is. Will report back later.

Well folks looks like I am jumping ship... Just worked out a trade deal for my cpu-board-ram plus a little $ for an i7-950-x58-12gb ram...

I got an evga x58 SLI LE & 6x2GB XMS3 ram... The cpu does 4.27 at decent voltage...

Already planning on selling off the 6 sticks of crapsair and getting 3 sticks of the g.skill PI..

12gb is way overkill for my needs anyway... I barely use this 4gb...

haha, what gave you that idea...

Nah, nothing against corsair in general, just its 1333 cas 9 ram... Not really gaming ram.. The PI's im looking at are cas 6 @ 1600

I personally have had enough issues with skimping on my ram when building that I know now to buy faster ram with tighter cas even if it costs a little more..

That I will miss about these boards, you can get a 2x2gb set of great ram for 60 - 70 brand new...

Count me in! Only just got it stable over these few days, having to find that sweet spot for the voltage.

Anyway, general purpose of this rig:
Gaming, University related stuff. Other than that, nothing really.

Idle and Load temps/Voltages/whatever else are in the attachments.

OC was able to pass 20 passes of IBT on Maximum and 50 passes on Standard. Was also stable for 12 hours of Prime on blend.

BIOS settings I'll update when I have the time.

No benchmarks done yet.
