I haven't had a random freeze since!
Thanks for the reply Nahte27. I am presently@ 20x200 with v-core @1.35............vtt@ 1.33 ............DRAM volts @ 1.60 (just bumped ram volts again--just in case) been running for a day or so and no freezing as yet. I don't see any need for the stress tests as I can pass any of them with much less voltage. BUT in my everyday use which is really not too demanding I would get those annoying freeze ups for no apparent reason, causing me to down clock. I just hate to run any less than 4.0 Ghz.

Do you mind saying what you run (the Multiplyer you use---V-core and vtt for your 4114 Mhz clock)? Maybe I can run faster and still be stable with better settings?

Something weird is going on . I tried to dial in 21x196 for 4.11Ghz and on booting it would say 22x....CPUZ also reported 22x. Loaded Op Defaults and tried again...no love.

Presently at 22x 187 with the same voltages for 20x200. Going to see if it will run there without the freeze problem. If it doesn't I will revert back to 20x200 as it was acting ok there for the past day or so.

It just ticks me off to have this rig and run it under 4.0....gotta have some speed

There are some unstable speeds for these chips. It depends on a lot of things. My chip, for example, doesn't really like booting at 3.9GHz, has to go to 4.

I wasn't clear on the issue. I mean I can type in 21x and when I boot it displays 22x even after loading Op Defaults. The 21 multiplyer is not registering somehow in the BIOS change. It shows correctly on the blue BIOS page but on booting it shows 22x and CPUZ/ Core temp verifies the 22x multiplyer. So I don't know what is up with that.

All I want to do is run at least 4.0 preferably 4.1 and not have the occasional freeze up. I wll report back here on a timely basis and let you guys know how it is performing

have you tried the 20x multi?

Maybe turbo mode is enabled? I know it kicks my multi up 1 when enabled...

Nice Temp Drop.

@ dennyb,

Just sounds like Turbo giving you that +1 Turbo Ratio. Disable it and you will have the 21 that you have set.

Just the expression on the moticon's face will let you know my answer. What a dummy I am. I completely forgot about that setting.

Now running 196x21 instead of 187x22 even tho I was not having a problem using the 22x multi. I am going to run this speed with the volts as indicated in my earlier post and see if the freezing issue is resolved. Thanks for the help guys. Will let you know how I make out and of course +1 to those who took the time to respond---dennyb
