Nice, got quite hot though.

yeah. IBT is just brutal. I might have to switch to either OCCT or Cinebench, since they're closer to what I actually use the rig for.

Anyone running 16GB configs in either 2x8GB or 4x4GB? What speeds are your chips @ and what's your IMC?

What was stable for me w/ 2x2GB gets thrown right out the window w/ 2x4GB, lol. 4x4GB is blue city. tongue.gif

I didn't know this topic was here...

But would anyone mind looking at my thread that's about this CPU and what's going on with my overlocking?: http://www.overclock.net/t/1211743/i5-760-overclocking-issues

Then maybe I could soon join the club. tongue.gif

first you say you had a 4.3ghz OC with

then you post a screenshot at 4.1ghz getting 74-77c stressed

Yeah more RAM will make it run hotter and less stable. Funny thing is that I used to run only one 2gb stick, then added the other 2gb after getting my brother some RAM, and I never had to change a thing.

I killed my c-states, cpu idles at 34'c, motherboard stays around 25'c. When stressed cpu reaches 64'c, ambient is at 17-18'c.

With ambient at 30-31'c my cpu idles around 43'c, mobo at 35'c, and cpu reaches 72'c when stressed.

Stressing with Intel Burn Test on Xtreme Stress Mode is obviously much hotter than what you would get while doing anything else. OCCT is great for gpu testing, don't know how good the cpu testing on it is though.

I also wouldn't use Intel Burn Test to see if my pc is stable, many people have had problems with IBT when it comes to stability, where they were stable on everything but IBT. Burn test is just to see how hot it can burn in my opinion.
