Try something like 21 x 191 or 190 if you don't have to have 4 ghz. set your dram speed to the one closest to what its rated for. either 2:6 or 2:8

set your vcore to like 1.275 or something and work up from there.
I'll let someone else explain the other voltages.

Also make sure speedstep, c1-e, c-state, and other power saving features are turned off.

It also may help to have LLC, and full power mode turned on..

Does anyone use quickboot while OCing? Or at all?

Is anyone familiar with DMI Pool Data? It looks like it's to verify things like the hard drive... it seems like that's where mine is getting stuck - after POST and it gets stuck verifying it till it restarts...

Have you cleared CMOS ? Sounds like a data corruption. Hopefully clearing CMOS will take care of it.

If your referring to the bios quick-boot then yes. If your talking about asus's express gate or something similar then no i never use it..

I think mine will sometimes get hung up on the DMI pool data. but not for long at most maybe like 5 seconds. it never restarts because of it.

Maybe you should try making sure that you are in the correct HD mode (ex: ide or ahci) and if you are in ahci try enabling the ahci 2.0 tables.

Just some things to try and help.

I am definitely planning on clearing CMOS to see if it resolves the boot issue.

I was just curious about quickboot on my Gigabyte mobo. I didn't really know how it effected OC... looks like it just doesn't check as much if hardware is working.

EDIT: My SATA settings are in AHCI mode since I have a SSD.

@ 1 guy and others who may benefit

I have looked at my BIOS configuration and the following is my procedure for setting up the BIOS so you eliminate faulty settings as the cause for overclocking problems. I am by no means an expert on 1156 but I do have extensive knowledge of 775 Giga UD3P board BIOS configuration--so some of this is from my 775 files and the rest is from my own experience in 1156 BIOS

CLEAR CMOS
Shut down--unplug-- hold start button in for 10 sec--short the CMOS pins in lower right corner of mobo for 1 minute using a flat screwdriver--plug back in-start

Load Optimum Defaults (but realize this) "the defaults are not really OPTIMUM" you must now perform the following setting adjustments

Advanced Frequency Settings
XMP---Profile 1 is what I use
PCIe Frequency--set to 100

Advanced Memory Settings
XMP should be Profile 1
System Memory Multiplier--I have it @ 8.00
1600
Performance Enhance--Standard

Advanced Voltage
LLC--enabled...if you do not agree then don't do it
V-core--1.25 ...I don't know what you may need
QPI/vtt-1.25....I don't know what you may need
ALL ELSE--"NORMAL" I don't like auto

Advanced Bios Features
Boot Devices-Hard drive>> CD Rom
Init Display--Peg

Power Management Setup
HPET--64 bit....you may need 32 if using 32 bit OS

These are the settings that provide me with stability. If they help anyone ...great. If they don't ...don't flame me for trying

I pretty much already match all of those settings, denny except that I have memory set to extreme (instead of turbo or standard).

Also, as far as I can tell, and through the hours of P95 testing, my 4.01ghz OC requires a 1.3vcore... at 1.2875 I was getting FATAL ERRORs. I have the QPI at 1.25.

EDIT: As of 7 minutes ago, P95 has passed 6 hours of blend testing.
