Yeah that may be the case..

And for Mdorty no i couldn't change the ram multi, it was at 2:6, 2:8 gave me stuff kinda good but a little low, and 2:10 was way to high..
I'm trying to maintain at least 4.15Ghz on the cpu without frying my ram..
Finally an i7

Your right I can't deal with it... It's too frustrating ..
My q66'never had stability issues like this
In fact the day i got it I was done overclocking it!
I spent 20 hours yesterday overclocking this not to
Mention all the time before ..
I'm done ,'your right I can't handle it so I'll just stop
No more overclocking for me.
Denny sizzle thanks for your help
I'll see the rest of you around the forums

I would be doubtful about RMA'ing your CPU after overclocking it.. just seems like they wouldn't accept it. I say keep it and settle for lower clocks and just be happy with the beast of a computer you'll have

ekko, I'm an elderly person and would like to offer you some advice. Feel free to reject it. Don't make decisions when you are upset. Wait a few days and think it over. To my way of thinking 4.0 GHz is plenty fast for everyday use. The extra 100 or 200 MHz will not materially affect your PC enjoyment. The decision is your to make

And just to sum things up a bit...... Its time consuming yes, but I will run my final 24/7 clocks for months and months without a tweak....(unless i get the itch which I always do)

I have the following over the last 3 days
8.5 hours stable
9 hours stable
10.45 hours stable
8.5 hours and counting running right now

thats about 36 hours of stress testing for stability to find my 24/7 clocks.... And those are just the stable runs.. I failed one at 4.5 hours and another locked up last night after about 1.30 hours...

But I do sleep about 6 hours a night and work 8 hours a day, so the time stressing is done then...

lol, drama queen.

For your information, a few months ago I bought my CPU on a Wednesday. Thursday I put the PC together, and Friday I hit 4.4ghz with 4.2 being 24/7 stable. Not sure where you failed at, must be the chip.

What are your CPU Vcore & VTT (QPI) voltage?

Probably a slight bump to each and you will be good....
