RAM is at 1.50v bios, 1.55v in hardware monitor, so that shouldn't be a limitation. The board doesn't seem so keen on higher vtt though, I had it at 1.21 (again from a guide) and was having p95 errors regardless of heat/voltage. Backed down to 1.10v and all was well.

Maybe need to tidy up the airflow now I think about it, didn't bother routing the cables when I put it together :-) Coule be not enough air passing over the relevant bits of the mboard, not that I remember where those are......
Relevant bits on the board (black squares) and don't overlook feeding cool air to the cpu cooler itself.

similar on another ud2 that Kvjavs loaded up with copper heatsinks.

Also have the PCH heatsink but it isn't as much of a concern.

Hey all, this might be a stupid question but how come when I try to change any of the voltages it won't let me, it just stays on [AUTO] and is greyed out.

Is there a voltage control option in bios that you have to change to manuel first ?

Thanks for the pics - the airflow isn't good, total spaghetti in there. I need to dig through my box of bits'n'pieces, stick a rounded IDE cable in there, route the other cables round the back.

Anyway, put the pll down to 1.80 with no apparent downside, it's chuntering away on p95 for a while now.

My new 760 is working like a charm. I'm idling with the stock cooler + OCZ Freeze at 29 to 34C. Load temp small FFTs was right at 74C, everything stock, but this CPU right now is using about .2 more volts at idle than my other one did. Such a shame a friend my IMC on accident. When I hit 4.4ghz with that chip I had four dimms installed.

Well at least you got it back....

Mine is 1.244v default... Runs a bit cooler tho, I get 30 - 32 idle, 52-58 load...

You just ruined my theory that higher default voltage (VID) = cooler running cpu's

Im wondering if they just botched the weld on the IHS or if it is even soldered on..
Anyone know of people removing the IHS on this cpu?

well that exlains the high stock load temps then...

Crazy they send a cpu with a heat sink that doesn't even cool it properly...

I may hook up my TRUE today and see what kind of temps I get...
On my h20 I see temps in the high 50's Prime95, if the TRUE can keep them is the mid 60's I may go with it and start looking for a full cover block for my 470
I've got a TRUE 120 running, highs in p95 are always lower than IBT, I probably see a max of about 55-60 in p95, and ~70 in IBT. Although I just got another fan delivered and am running push/pull. I see ~5 degrees cooler max temp while folding. I don't have WC'ing on my 470, just a Thermalright Shaman, and it keeps temps ~30C cooler under full load stress testing.
