You're using connectors that don't have control. I'd bet that you have something like 5 connectors including the CPU fan connector and some of those can't be controlled.

Another possibility is that you turned some auto fan feature on the motherboard on.

You seem to be correct:

My CPU_Fan header is PWM compabitle and 4 pin, but actually I've never tried to control it with SpeedFan as the setting in BIOS has always been on PWM control and not voltage control (I guess SpeedFan uses voltage control?)

Anyway, I like my fan controller and I enjoy controlling my fans through it.

I just can't decide on Gentle Typhoon AP-15 1850rpm vs Arctic F12 (basic, not PWM version)

I believe SpeedFan can use both.

I was going to order some F12 PWMs from Mwave, but they didn't have enough in stock. I found out that AP-15s were in stock at Aquatuning for a pretty reasonable price so that's what I ended up buying.

The AP-15s push about 5 CFM more at full blast and are a little quieter. The only problem with them is the price and availability.

I have the MCP-35X PWM connector plugged into the MB CPU fan header. I also have the sunbeam rheosmart connected. They share a spliced PWM connector that the sunbeam rheosmart provided like this:

Then I use speedfan to set the lower and upper PWM % and Temperature target. I use 42C on my CPU temp probe as the switch. Below that both the pump and fan controller run at 28%, above that they run at 70%.

This is the RPM ramp up/down I get with pump and fans:

More detail on my sunbeam blog here:

You can change the name of stuff in speedfan, but the option is kind of buried. It can also monitor GPU and HDD temperature if it's running elevated.
