Sorry to be a pain, and I bet everyone is playing at the moment, but how do you kill a will-o-wisp thing as part of the main quest.

Thanks guys

I have no magical weapons, so I keep using shock spell, but they drain magika, so have to keep running away to allow it to recharge, but still end up dead...... damn things

You don't have to use enchanted weapons. Weapons made from certain materials will damage them too (silver weapons, daedric weapons, ebony weapons...). My tactic was to move in towards them fast and quickly get a few hits in, then move away to avoid their attack (you can tell when it's about to happen because of the coloured light they emit when casting their offensive spells), then move back in again to attack some more.

Or buy them - one of the imperial shops sells them.

use any form of magic, lower the game difficulty if the wisp is too hard to kill.
Then just turn the difficulty back up
