Oh I know! I've tried 2.9....its a no go right now. 1.5v it won't do it. It loads into windows, but won't prime at all. 2.85ghz temp hit 58°C over 14hrs or dual prime. Water is next, hope it will let me get to 3. If not, a 1ghz overclock is pretty impressive?! yeah?

Hey kitt3! Just posted. Unfortunately i think its at its max. 2.8 its dang stable 2.85 its touch and go. Funny thing, I set the volt in bios to 1.425, but in windows everything reads it at 1.47 - 1.5v. I'm going to get a new mobo see if I can get it more stable. Tried for 2.9ghz, but it was a no go.
Cooling is at its max I think. 1ghz OC to 2.8ghz on air is pretty good i think. I've got water cooling in the works, see if it can get me 200 more mhz. Soo close, can't give up right!!
Not bad for buying a used opty 165 on Ebay for $275 huh?!

2.8ghz on air is very good overclock for dual cores which they suck in overclocking. Water cool it , optys hate heat once u cool em at sub zero temps iam sure u will hit 3ghz

Get a 7900GT definitely, and volt mod it if you got the rocks.

Sideburns, you should go SLi with another volt modded GT. That would be rediculously powerful. I love your rig

If i can match your rigs power i will be very happy. Now where'd i put that wad of money....

HAHA. Dude, you know what? I'm always broke, the only way to get a sweet rig like this is prioritize. Just prioritize your spending on your computer instead of food and movies and stuff, and you'll have it in no time. Save a little bit, and spend it on one part at a time.

I have been considering the SLI 7900GT route...but I dono yet...I have to see what Vista is like and what's going on with DX10...
I say that 10,000 3DMark06 marks would pwn pretty hard...

He's right. I only make $7 an hour, but I still have a pretty good rig. (Nothing like Sideburns, but not bad. ) Just cut down your everyday spending on stuff you don't need. Instead, save it for your computer.
