Putting music on my Galaxy S?

Thread Starter
I just got a Galaxy S (the Mesmerize from US Cellular) a couple days ago and I really love it! I would like to use it as my music player to replace my aging iPod Classic.

I have all my music files on my PC (as MP3s, no iTunes) and I have purchased a bunch of them from the Amazon MP3 store, so a bunch of them are all fancy with album art. The Galaxy S is my very first smartphone, so of course I am very new to this and don't have a full understanding of how everything works yet.

I would like an easy way to transfer my music from my PC to my Galaxy S, along with album art where applicable, and then be able to easily manage it on my phone.

Can anybody help me out here? Thanks!

Drag and drop them to your "Sound > Music" folder from both your internal memory or microSD card.

Go to your options and for connectivity, make sure you have to "Ask upon connection" or something like that allows you use to use Storage mode instead of Samsung Kies.

And no you don't have to put it on both your internal and external storage, just one of the two is good enough.

Yeah, you have to install Samsung Kies before it actually detects the phone. (Atleast, thats what happend to me.)

You don't need to use Samsung Kies itself to put the music on your phone. (Luckly! That program is absolutely horrible, watching Nightmare on Elms street is more pleasant then using that program.)

Thanks guys. USB was set to mass storage but it wouldn't show up. I set it to ask first and then pressed mass storage and it worked. must be a bug or something. and using winamp. Its awesome! Gotta get a 32gb sd card.
