hi everybody.

i have an a8n-sli, 3500+ winchester, 1gb ocz 3200 ddr400 plat rev2, sapphire x1900xt.

i have this oc==
236x11= 2615mhz. httx4. @1´53v.
memory 1:1 @ 2´9v. 2-3-3-5-9-11, 1T

i´m trying to oc my system to a higher fsb, around 250-260 and i put these=

250x10=2530mhx. httx4 (1000). @ 1´53v
memory 1:1 @2´9v. 2´5-3-3-6-10-12, 1T

i can´t even start windows and i looked in many forums and i don´t find solution.

any recomendations???
will i notice diference from 236fsb to 250-260fbs???
are the voltaje correct??

thank you

yeah take put yor memmry on a divider of 166 or loosen the timings up to somthing like 2.5-3-3-6 2t 2.9v and u should get higher also i know your htt is at x4 x250 = 1000 but lower it to x3 because it will give u better stababilty

try that first and if that dont work up the vcore to 1.55v /1.6v if u can also

seeing your new could you please fill in your user cp loacted on the we bar ^ we need to have your computor specs so we can help u more :] righting them down is no good lol

thank you so much. what a quick reply.

this is a very important post for me. i´ve with this for weeks. i really apreciate if somebody takes a litte time to solve my 7 questions bellow.

i just put the specs of my computer in the place. i´m new with all this but i´ve been reading a lot the lasts 6 months. so many hours!!

the things that i ask myself and i found different opinions in the forums are;

1. the 1T or 2T does much difference??? i think you said no big deal.

2. what is the maximum stable fsb for the a8n-sli deluxe??? (i read so many diferent versions of this). i´l trying to put the multiplier at 10x unless you recomend another thing.

3. my bios is 1016. i ca´n´t choose 1´6v. i don´t know even if i shoul put to 1´5v. is it ok 1´5???

4. is it better 1:1 with worst timmings or 166 with better timmings???

5. if i put 166, the HTT is a multiplier of the memory (200:166) or the fsb??

6. if the HTT is 3x, it will get around 750 if i put the fsb to 250. is it better to have less cpu speed with higher HTT or higher cpu and lower HTT??

7. the same as above. is it better to have high cpu speed with regular timmings or better timmings with low cpu speed??

thank you very much for the help guys. (and girls).

PD. i´ll use it a lot for games so wherever is best for that

There are no right or wrong ways to OC.. just better ways and these come from trying options out for yourself on YOUR kit... every system will OC differently even with identical components....

Quote:
1. the 1T or 2T does much difference??? i think you said no big deal.
Little 'real world' difference - read the thread on this very subject - link in my sig.

The Asus MB defaults to 2T - best to leave it at this or keep < 240 if really want to run 1T

Quote:
2. what is the maximum stable fsb for the a8n-sli deluxe??? (i read so many diferent versions of this). i´l trying to put the multiplier at 10x unless you recomend another thing.
You can find out your Max by working through the FAQ on how to do this - link in my sig.

I have found with my Asus MB that the Max for the MB is 315 as at 320 the SATA drives on the PCIe bus dropp off.

Quote:
3. my bios is 1016. i ca´n´t choose 1´6v. i don´t know even if i shoul put to 1´5v. is it ok 1´5???
Asus limit the Vcore for your (their) protection, there is a MOD available - search this forum for it, otherwise you are limited to about 1.55v

Quote:
4. is it better 1:1 with worst timmings or 166 with better timmings???
All AMD DDR memory work on dividers, even 1:1 is actually a divider, so the best one will be that which allows you to amx the CPU / MB / Mem out all together... work through the FAQ on finding the Max...

Quote:
5. if i put 166, the HTT is a multiplier of the memory (200:166) or the fsb??
The HTT should be kept under 1000MHz and it is a separate multiplier - this is calculated by the CPU (FSB) x the HTT multi - leave this on x3 will see you right for all OC's up to 333, which is prob. more than the MB can deliver. There is no benefit of OC'ing the HTT - it just needs to be fast enough to allow the system to boot and not too fast to keep it stable.

Quote:
6. if the HTT is 3x, it will get around 750 if i put the fsb to 250. is it better to have less cpu speed with higher HTT or higher cpu and lower HTT??
See 5. above - but CPU speed is King - try to max this out for the available cooling system.

Quote:
7. the same as above. is it better to have high cpu speed with regular timmings or better timmings with low cpu speed??
Again work through the Find the Max of your key components... but it goes in this order.

CPU Speed - King

Mem timings & FSB speeds needs to be balanced - only through testing will you find what runs best on your rig.

after some time trying, i finally did this and seems to be ok. i know it´s too much like all you guys can get.....

264x10 @1´55v. htt x3.

2´5-3-3-6 @ 2´9v. 1:1. 2T

41ºC or 105º in the desktop.

the final speed of the cpu is almost the same but higher fbs (but worst timings).

i don´t know if i can go further without putting the system in risk...

what do you think???

any recommendation??

The bets way is to first make sure that each component is OK and at what speed / timings..

Then set a target say 2.5-2.55 GHz and really get that stable, prime etc.. from there edge it up by making small steps then you will know what works and what does not.

OC'ing takes time, paitence and skill ... if it was easy then DELL would be selling it to you
