Amd 3200 and K8N$-E

I'm pretty new to overclocking here...
My config : amd3200 (newcastle) Sck 754 at 2200

I tried a weak Oc for starters: 210*11 for a 110 mhz increase using the
Ai Overclock feature of my mobo (K8N4-E)

Looks pretty stable to me, and to prime95 , will try other stability progs later

My question : how does Ai Overclock affect the other parameters?
I got concerned about the Pci-E clock so i went back to manual leaving the same settings but ensuring Pci_E clock was at 100 Mhz

What about the Ddr and Cpu voltage ? leave it on Auto ?

thx for help

yeah if you arent overclocking any higher than that then thats fine :] alosu dont need to test it with anything eles aprt from prime because its the best at stress testing also give occt a try its good and only take 30mins to say weither ure cpu is stable or not :] you can get it here with other programes free
http://www.short-media.com/download.php?dc=72

i u want to overclock it more just ask i would suggest u read up on overclocking first though :] before doing anything like in the bios ok :] 3

also please fill in your user cp at the top when u log in with your computor spec so we can help u :]

I recommend doing manual overclock rather than the Ai...you'll get better results.

thx for the quick replies... much appreciated

just wanted a little Oc to limit a possibile Cpu bottleneck on my graphics card, and as the gfx implies, not much more cpu power is needed.

I read a few on Oc , the Htt thing is quite confusing but I got it

Curiosity : My memlock index value is clocked auto at 100 - I tried to set it at 200 manual and I ended up having to remove bios battery to boot

shouldn't all Ddr be at 200 or my slight Oc has screwed up a possible default setting and i should go lower?

Everest says my memory bus is at 105 Mhz with Dram/Fsb ratio at /22 - that looks pretty low to me ... Uhmmm

Unless you have no other option ie it,s a DELL ,HP, Compaq then overclocking with software is a no no. Always use the bios for overclocking gives more stability and a higher o/c

download cpu-z and post a screen shot of your stable overclock......show the cpu speed and the memory speed.

the downside of using the Ai to overclock is that the settings that the mobo uses probably wont be the optimum for that amount of overclocking.

if that is as far as you want to overclock, input these settings rather than using Ai.

In jumper free config
cpu clock: 210
mult: x11
pci-e: 100MHz
VCore: 1.45V (on my K8N I have to set it at 1.550 for it to actually read as 1.450)
memory voltage: 2.8V

in cpu config
HTT: x4
C'n'Q: disabled
Gart: disabled

in chipset config
memory clock: 400
timings: auto.

try that.

also keep in mind that you'd probably get better performance setting your cpu to 231 x10 than 210 x11 (other settings can stay as above)
