I think Im missing OpenGL (bit of a read)

Thread Starter
After I recieved my x1600pro I've been playing a lot of CS:S...after a few days i tried to play CS and noticed that my settings have been reverted back down to software mode, 16bit, lowest resolution. The second I try to switch, I recieve the "current video mode not supported" and get reverted back to the crappy settings. I later tried to play Condition Zero and Deleted Scenes and got the same problem. I first thought it was a problem with steam, and attempted to solve the problem by reloading the games, then steam itself. I later thought that it was a problem with my video card and reloaded my driver (catalyst 6.4). Anyways, today i tried to play Medal of Honor: Allied Assualt and got the error:

A similar problem is present with Halo.
This leads to my hypothesis that I'm missing OpenGL or something is blocking me from using it.... what should I do? Help would very much appreciated

Delete You G-CARD drivers off your system then use a program called ''Driver cleaner'' to Remove left over files from the Driver, Reboot then re-install the 6.4 drivers again.

Well to be honest If the Drivers dont Fix the Issue something in windows may be corrupted but im not to sure. Anyone else got an answere.

Dont be tempted to reformat until you are sure you have tryed everything else.

My 7900 worked, then i reformatted and now i cant get it to work at all. I think its the card, but then theres the fact it worked before :/

I'm RMA'ing it anyway. Gonna ask for a partial refund and a 7900GT instead of a replacement GTX.

This can Be due to Software or hardware. I f you must uninstall Windows then see what happens if it still happens then you know its more likely to be your G-card playing up.

is openGL a windows component or something? its not just video card software right? if so, where are the files kept, and do you think I might be able to replace those files with files from a different computer?
I'm going to a lan and might be able to transfer the files over or maybe try my video card in another person's comp to see if its a hardware problem

Windows has a grapgic Subsystem so im guessing Opengl features somewhere but its your Drivers that adds the Software runtime for Opengl and d3d, So the Problem lies at the Driver level mate.

augh.....sooo annoying......CS:S works beautifully and looks very sexy, but everything else is very very crappy

I know its a bind..but looks like you need to re-install windows to get your Driver functionality back.
