need a WoW comp build for $500.
alreay have OS, keyboard, mouse, monitor.
the guys im building it for wants it to last a couple years without having to have any upgrades but still help with his framerates.

If it's mainly used for WoW, it can easily last 2 years.

Also GTX 460 is great choice. Or can grab a used for 5850 too if you can find a cheap deal somewhere.

budget has been increased to 700
gonna go with an i3 build
he really likes the antec 300 case. so, suggestions?

I say Antec 900, better airflow.

Ok

With cataclysm coming out i'd still stick with the gtx460 since cata will be heavy into DX11.

On top of that, a minimum of 4Gb of memory, i'd go with 8gb. In my rig WoW uses up 3.7GB. lol

Framerates will be dependant on both bandwidth available as well as GPU power.

But an i3@4.5Ghz with 8Gb of memory would own. Simple.

And do NOT going with the 900, there is nothing wrong with the 300 and will save you a tidy sum
