Thread Starter
ive just built this with the intention to overclock

asus a8n sli se
Two-512 kingston 3200
250 gig maxtor hdd
im not sure of the power supply because it came with the case, maybe 450w

Now ive searched all over the place for info on ocing this particular gear but all i find is random info that goes right over my bonce. i need to be told what i need to do in the bios with my setup because im just not geeting it..Has any1 got a similar system to mine.

Should i use ClockGen??? ive seen it in custom pc magazine and they said it was okay

1more thing peeps. can i combine two 512(3200)kingstons with two 1gig(3200) kingstons to make 3gig and how the hell do you oc ram

please enlighten me and ill stop posting dumb questions

Never overclock with Software unless you have a motherboard that does not let you overclock through BIOS.

Go to the advanced features page in the BIOS and select "jumperfree settings" up your bus speed, mulitplier and voltage in their.

You should be able to use 2 512mb and 2 1gb as long as you set up each in a dual channel with each other.

a powersupply that comes with a case usualy isnt up to the task of overclocking, let alone running a system well

Remember, if your PSU blows, it'll take your rig down with it.

Ya.....also one more thing....with shoddy psu's like mine just make sure the vcore doesnt fluctuate muich as suddenly your vcore may dip and then cause the pc to crash...happens to me...i can have at 1.675 volts stable syustem and then it just dips to 1.648 and everything crashes.....
