the 7600GT's OC is limited by voltage. Do a voltmod so its not being starved of power and it will OC like a beast. All the 7 series OC well, they are just starved of voltage.

And best buy will not have a made by ATi card, as far as I know at least.

This looks like a much better deal 512, 256bit, no Shader model 3.0 support tho, but thats ignorable.

Ive heard that you can unlock that card to 16 pixels. How does that work? Would that make it faster than the X850 XT?

Mabye and Mabye not. because of the Memory bus. Still I would pefer the X1600 because of the price and the SM3.0 support

sorry, he was, rather specifically, talking about the 512MB version, which is 2.8 times more expensive as the 256mb version of the x1600pro.

sm 3.0 doesn't really matter- i don't really miss it right now... maybe it will be more important later, but for now, it's just an extra really (hey, if you want to spend the money on the x1600 pro for a card that "supports sm3.0!" but can't run anything as well as the x850, go right ahead).

X800 GTO with 512mb of slower GDDR2, will be considerably slower then a regular cheaper X800 GTO with 256mb of faster GDDR3.

The 512mb version also always has the X800 XL core, so you can't OC the core much or the limited GDDR2 memory, could unlock to 16 but performance won't be too good, on the upside it does have a better cooler.
