PCs that can take full advantage of Vista, the next generation Windows operating system, could cost organisations £350 more per desktop than Windows XP machines.

i reallllllllllllly get tired of people saying XP is a resource hog when it isnt, its what PROGRAMS you use that are the resource hogs hate to break it to you.

I wont switch to vista right off the bat, ill wait until i get a new card and until more games with dx10 come out.

I was trying to just point out that XP combined with CAD and a slow system wont go together Very well. I find that Windows XP is a resource hog when first instaled but when you add tweaks to it becomes alot smoother.

Don't see many businesses making the switch at least not right away.

The price increase is a joke IMO. Its just all about making the money, sad but true. They claim it is more stable and reliable over XP. I don't expect to much of a change in this area though. I'm afraid though that their making in need to meet so many certain requirement that people will have to make the switch sooner or later

Microsoft has recommended a desktop hardware specification for Vista that includes a fast dual-core processor, 1Gbyte of system memory and a high-end fast graphics card.
I'm glad theres still Linux at least .
