Well I don't know much about your mobo-- or how fast your chipset is or HDD either--when playing games with a less powerful card (such as yours) the instruction sets the Vcard can't handle onboard are shunted to the CPU--this ties up bandwidth and resources. Not sure what BIOS options you might have to play with on that mobo either.

Do you have a buch of other stuff running in the background? Ctrl + ALT + DEL will pop up task manager and you can look at processes to see what is hogging all that CPU time. If it's some background service you can live without here is how to get it to die.

Start/Run/type MSCONFIG int he box/Okay/startup/ clear all check boxes/sevices/ hide all MS services/disable all/rstart

hope that helps...wouldn't hurt to run SpyBot S & D and to scan for viruses.

Good luck.

I just helped a friend with a similar prob--PC was bogging but nothing showed in the processes or apps. Ran SpyBot--276 problems--could only fix 191 of them--needed to do a fresh install to cure it--now his PC is back to normal--playing games with a geforce 2 lol...so run SpyBot S & D from Pepi MK software (do not be fooled by the slews of imitators) and if that doesn't find some problems don't know what to tell ya...fresh install?

Are you still getting 100 % CPu usage? If so its probably because you have some Rogue services Running that shouldnt be there namely one called ''SCVHOST'' look on your processes list by hitting Cntrl alt del then look for that process if you have it theres your problem right there.

got about 5 or 6 of that in there running but had got system next to it so thought couldnt end them tasks. if i can how do i stop them from starting all together. couple have local network next to them and network + system.

what about the services in system config can i stop most of them?

Could it have anything to do with pagein file = 1950mb
available = 1765mb

You can stop Certin Malicious Services and processes in the msconfig Utility. When you say you have 5-6 of these ''SCVHOSTS'' can you make sure ther not the proper systems services such as ''SVCHOSTS''
