F@H Trouble!!

Thread Starter
I just installed F@H on both cores of my rig as per the "Folding on Dual Core For Dummies" FAQ. I got both instances of F@H to work but i had to restart and now I'm getting some odd errors when I reboot. The mobo POSTs correctly but after that i get a garbled message that doesn't make sense. No letters or numbers just odd characters. Then if I hit ENTER it boots, if I hit F8 it takes me to a screen where I can select XP Home and it'll boot correctly from there. This is VERY irritating. Is there anyway to get around this?

I'm using text versions of F@H for these. Which by the way are not showing up in the mini-tray, but they are showing up in Windows Task Manager.

EDIT: Also i did the "AMD DUAL CORE Hotfix" a couple days ago. That could be one of the problems. It didn't help any performance, but it didn't hurt it as far as i could see.

It doesn't seem like folding could be a cause of the boot issues you're having since it's not even getting to the point of loading Windows. As for the programs only showing up in the task manager, you most likely set the software to run as a service when you ran through it the first time. I suggest that you post this issue in the AMD section as it sounds mobo related.

The only potential problem with that is that some people have had issues with getting the folding flags to stick when it runs as a service. If your flags are running fine, then you're good to go. Otherwise, just run the config again and tell it not to run as a service.
