that was the initial test run with no fans, the followup with BOINC were, sadly, far less glorious. check the 2nd post for update.

Swiftech MCR420-QP Quad 120mm Radiator can't go that big on a case and then go small on a rad can i!?
Why not use the radiator you have? It would mount up there...

Re-read it. That makes sense.

Fill your loop with moonshine if you want that added redneck touch.

Bonus points if you hook it up to a spout in one of your 5.25" drive bays.

i'd rather fill my belly with shine! well, sort of. last shine i had i liked entirely too much. ended up sleeping in my buddies bathroom floor. i don't remember all of it but from what they told me i refused to move because the tile floor was nice and cool.

SOOOO MUCH WIN!

I was thinking about doing something like this because my radiator had holes drilled in it (I got it like that) What made you pick that specific heater core?

it's not a heater core. the place i work uses industrial welders. the welders require so much power that the 480 line that most factories run off of isn't sufficient to power them. they have their own power supplies, kinda like the ones in a computer but MUCH bigger. these power supplies get so hot that they are water cooled. this radiator is out of one of the power supplies that was in one of the welders that was being decommissioned.

the biggest two problems with it are that it's single pass, and that i haven't found an easy way to attach barbs to it. i'm not throwing it away though, and fully intend on trying a new method of attaching barbs, i have some stuff in the works for my next project.
