Load temp 36C???

Thread Starter
I have a P4 Prescott 3.0E socket 478 running at 3.75 GHz right now and I am runing F@H and one Prime95 and I am getting a load temperature of 36C I have a lapped IHS and a lapped BT with a 110CFM fan (Silverstone FM121). I used to get 36C when only running F@H so my cpu would be at 50% load. I noticed it had fallen to 32C randomly so I checked it out and F@H was still running at 50% on the CPU. I just opened a Prime95 and have been running it for about 10 minutes along with folding and the temp hasn't gotten over 36C?!?! I can't explain this, is my sensor going bad or something since all it did was drop from 36 to 32 randomly, and now is at 36 with 100% load? Both Speedfan and Everest say the same temp.Any ideas? I did just take out my vid card and then put it back in after a while, might I have jarred the HSF into a better position? Beats me, I'm not complaining though.

Hehe good job with that, i cant see why it would be wrong so enjoy your low temps while im at 50 load on a hot day

yeah with that P43.0E 36 is an excellent temp...Gotta remember also with the summer getting here that the temps are going to increase a little because it is going to be warmer overall outside...

I have restarted the computer since then and it has stayed the same so I guess it is correct. I also took both side panels off of my case and re-did some fan work on the front of the case under my dvd drives and added a fan that blows air into my 7800GS's intake and am getting some awesome temps across the board.

What is your CPU temp in the BIOS? But very nice temp nontheless. Maybe you can overclock some more?

My temp is 32C in the bios, which is what it is when I fold (50%). I can't OC past 3.86GHz because my ram turns to crap. Otherwise I would probably make it to 4.0GHz easy.

It says 50% on folding because it is a hyper threading CPU and is telling the tricking the operating system into thinking it has 2 cores. You really are folding at 100%...Actually you can set up 2 instances of FOH 1 on each "core" and then you will see it at 100% but should not see a difference in performance.
