My first build was a

Intel 486 DX2 66mhz
4 mb RAM
420 mb HD
1 mb card (forget which)
3.5" floppy
(no CD/DVD)

I remember buying my first CDROM for over $200

you dont need an sata6g cable, any normal sata cable will do. They buy wrist protection SO THE MOTHERBOARD DOESN'T GET SHOCKED!!!! NOT YOU lol you must really like yourself.

Good rid but is this for gaming? I would have gotten a cheaper CPU and more Gpu horsepower you just built something with super fast cpu and "OK" graphics.
You could have gotten an i5 760 and a MUCH better gpu

great job on the first build, im curious tho i saw a 2x2gb ram package....that board supports triple channel....just a thought for future upgrades would be a bit faster and you would have more memory...Enjoy your build!!!!

Your right. But at the same time it means he can keep his CPU for longer. People upgrade their GPU more often anyway. When I bought my rig I only had a 2600XT with my Q6600 and although I've gone through various graphics cards I still haven't needed to upgrade my CPU.

@ OP: I really like this build, good work . Oh and remember to post pictures when it's built!

OP, you should have asked for advice before ordering the parts. You could have put together a much better overall rig for the money.
