Processor initialisation problems

Thread Starter
When I turn my PC on it hangs at the processor initialisation code on the LED's and on screen it doesn't progress past telling me name of processor, ie RAM details aren't shown and hard drives found.

To turn my PC on I have to unplug from wall for around a minute then plug back in and turn on. Anybody know whats wrong?

Also how do you turn of TV display with ATI cards as I get the annoying thing popping up on startup telling me its on. Even though I never enabled it.

Thanks

This sounds like a slight Incompatibility which can be Solved by updating the Cpu microcode with a Bios update for that Motherboard. ..Also try resetting the C-mos. As to your ATI problem you can disable that in Msconfig i beleive or Within the ATI CCC options under Tv force detect Options.

It is definatly something wrong with your motherboard. It seems to me that when you are unplugging your computer, you are allowing the motherboard to drain the power out.

So its one of these.
1. stability problem from overclocking
2. faulty bios ^
3. needs cmos resetting ^
4. possible connection problem (from psu or componants)

Have you done anything different than usual on that computer, installed anything new or tried to overclock some more?
