Chosing a graphic card ..

Thread Starter
Hi guys ..
Stuck in choosing a graphic card ..
Okay. So I can get this 7800GT Volt Modded with Arctic Coolin NV silencer for 240 dollars. But im not sure about buying it. Is it gonna be out dated soon or would it be better to get a X1800Xt 512 MB for 299 on Newegg? I mean would two 7800GT in SLI be the same as 512 MB when playing games as I could always upgrade to another 7800GT when prices go down..
Any comments would be nice..

get a 7800 GT then. Personally i always go for ATI, but if you have an SLI board, the choice is made for you really.

7800gts' in sli will stomp any single card on the market ryt now..and if anyone disputes that we can drag out the benches then...but if ur buying new? then get 7900s' instead coz theyl just be that much better....and yes all the cards u can get now will probably be obsolete in a year lol...and dont count on prices to drop to quickly coz nvidia knows u can beat their latest cards with sli'ing 2 old ones...nopes..theyre gonna be about the same price....

There's no realy reason to go SLI unless you already have a 6600/6800/ or 7800GT or unless you have a bunch of money.

That 7800GT is interesting, what is it volt modded too? I as because if it's somehwhere in the 600MHz range then I would definately take it, but I would leave it the same clock and just use that cooling.

It's really all about your budget and if it's only $250 then the 7800GT is not shabby card

the only real reason to go sli would be if u wanted max settings in games like oblivion..stuff like that..even a 7900gtx wont do that..7800gt sli will...but of course everything depends on ur budget. i wouldnt sli 2 gtxs coz thats out of my budget...the gts make more sense to me i guess coz i could afford it and i like the fact that i can blow guys with a 1900xt or gtx out of the water with my 7800s.
