Well i see in this bench here http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu.ht...=68&model2=323 that that P4 661 owned the 920, BUT we are overclocking the puppy, which one would overclock more, and perform better in a game such as Battlefield 2, my friend is ordering his rig tonight or tomorrow, and just wonder whats the best buy for him the 661 or the 920, and we are overclocking

920 of course. Because of future proof and as long as you keep it at 4.06ghz it would be a great contender at gaming; see link here why.

Although, aren't you guys getting an nForce 4 SLI-IE for that set-up? If so then go with the 661 instead a much better choice.

Nah we decided for the 7900GT instead, better IMO but who knows

I can play BF2 at max settings (ultra), 1280x1024, 4xAA, fold on both cores, and I never dip below 55fps, and I average around 77FPS, with a max of 99.9FPS (I think it goes higher, but doesn't show it)

Therefore I would recommend going for a Pentium D 920. But, you want a C1 revision Presler, which Intel is only doing on the 930-965. Also the 950 is going to cost around $300 come monday.

BTW- Tom's Hardware used to be a great source for computer info, but recently they have proven to be pretty useless.

By nForce 4 I meant the Motherboard, and yes the 7900 GT makes more sense than two 7600 GTs in SLI even if they were shown to be faster.......because we know what could happen in the long run, if he had decided for another 7900 GT later...

Anyhow, if it's a MoBo with an Intel Core Logic, yes the 920 but if not, then the 661, because you may never see 4.0ghz (from 2.8ghz) on an nForce 4 MoBo.

still i would go with the 920 because it is more futureproof and wait until next week and get the 950 for around $300 or you can get the 925 for 178$. they will overclock better because they will be the c1 revision

every benchmark/sandra score and even peoples own accounts tells me that dual cores are pwning singl core chips regardless of clock speed. I dont understand y u would want a 661! 65nm sure, 3.6 sure, but single core...? Please explain

Err.. isn't the 930 going to cost the SAME as the 920 as of like tomorrow? You'd better keep an eye on that!
