Best Video Card For $140

Thread Starter
About a month ago some guys helped me choose a card for $60 and that card is just not cuttin it. I have sold that card for $50 and and I was able to save about $90 from my Bday. That gives me a total of $140, so what is the best card that I can afford?

It needs to be agp and I would like to be equal or better than the X800 standard because I borrowed one from my brother for a little while and I loved the way it performed but I dont want anything worse than that either.

Thanks

Well this is my opinio, but if you wanna get a card that will play almot all games just fine, not perfect and not great but good like bf2, oblivion, fear, doom 3 then i sugest get a 9800 xt and a naleman cooler and some AC5 and over clock it using ATI tool

Can not believe I am about to recomemnd an ATi card.

HIS Hightech Radeon X1600PRO H160PRQ256AN $136.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161003

And just so my nVidia Fanboy card is not revoked:

Apollo Geforce 6800 128-RD-COD2 $169.00 Save another $20.00 and COD2 with it.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814140070

I actually have the Apollo 6800 in my P4 and it does a nice job. I can play BF2 on a mix of high and med settings. I managed to unlock the 4 locked pipes and so did a friend of mine with his Apollo 6800 he has in his P4. I do not know anything about the x1600 but it was the latest model card w/ AGP that was in your price range.

Same kinds as Enterprise but the x1600 has a bigger HSF and the 6800 comes with COD2.

Look on ebay to get a better card for a better price. Try to find a 6800 series card or a 6600gt. I know you may not want an x800 but those would be pretty good also. The x1600pro that they suggested is decent also.

eBay is a good option.. but risky.

I got my X850PRO from ebay for about ~$169, but that was a while ago. It's not a great overclocker, but I could unlock to 16 pipes and flash to X850XT PE. This card runs great for me! If you find something like this with a reputable seller (good refund policy), then go for it.

dont get the 512 MB x1600s, they dont use all 512Mb well, due to the 128 bit addressing

the 6600 series are great,
personally, id save a little more money, and the x800GTO and unlock it to 16 pipelines
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102609

its what im gonna buy soon, i cant afford a $300 7800GS

Thats Right Break out of the Fanboyism. Dont get the X1600PRO 512MB version as its 128MB ringbus can utilize all the 512 mb ram at anyone time so its pointless so save your Money and get the 256 version.
