Good pump for w/c?

Hey peeps.
Currently building a sub $100 uberness setup, and was wondering:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/POWERFUL-JEBO-350...QQcmdZViewItem Im THIS close to clicking the bid button... It has 1/2" fittings, therefore i will be able to use 1/2" tubing, right?
19.99 seems awfully tempting for a dd d5-like pump. The 110/60 v/hz doesnt bother me one bit, i know my way around with a soldiering iron.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/New-Jebo-Aquarium...QQcmdZViewItem
How 'bout that one? The stats look awefully tempting...

It's cheaper, the only thing is that I hear these pumps can be kind of loud but will be suitable for your needs

i wouldnt suggest either of those pumps mate. if price is major concern, try and look for the following.

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=3434

its gonna be a lot more better investment compared to what u r looking at. reason i am saying this is simply because aquarium and pond pumps are not famous for continuous constant flows.

get a via aqua 1300 then do fstfrdy's mod to make it quieter.
you can get one here w/ 1/2" barbs already installed for $28 shipped
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1
the mod to make it quiet won't cost anything, just use a small piece of tubing
