The best for gaming Clearly is the SATA300 as Data transfer rates are alot faster So loading times are alot Quicker in everything data can be loaded faster in games also. Make sure your Motherboard is capable of SATA 2 first before getting the SATA 300 HDD

Well, there's nothing wrong w. buying an SATA2 hard drive and having a SATA 1 supported motherboard. SATA2 Is backwards compatable.

SATA 2 is backward Compatible but he wouldnt achieve SATA 300 speeds he would be at SATA 150 speeds so if he was doing that then you mayaswel just buy the SATA 150 then again SATA 300 isnt that much Different in price at all.
