loading times in games and programs would be shorter with the 7-8-7 kit

I'd say the CL7 memory, although I don't really like the XMS series from Corsair. But to be honest, you'll never notice and difference between those two, only benchmark and perhaps slightly in encoding etc.

But for the $10 you should go for it.
