Your chip may be cooler than mine, etc. She's running 710 on the core as well and there are other variables that are exclusive of the heatsink/fan assembly.

Your Zalman deposits the heated air inside the case as well.

It is not obvious. LOL

Yes, it deposits the hot air inside my case...and STILL loads lower. lol
I know that the stock GTX is a good cooler, but vmod it to 1.55v then tell me that you're running that cool. That's all I'm saying. My ambient is anywhere from 68 - 72 most of t he time...usually around 70 flat.

Not arguing, just saying that it's worth it to upgrade if you simply want the best.

I've seen this thing beat the best air coolers in a review or 2. I was surprised that it actually performed well. They say no maintenance for over a year =)

No, look at it closer and you'll see that it mounts onto the gpu just like any other water cooling. They give you the mounts for different sockets with the kit.

It may beat the best air coolers, but it's also $80... I don't know about the rest of you, but if I were to spend $80 on GPU cooling, it would be on a good waterblock and other parts for a WC setup. IMO, spending that much to cool just one GPU is silly.

I like the movement of the air outside the case so I would not move to the Zalman for that reason alone. The card is running 710 on the core at 1.4V which is enough as well.

And the chip of the 7900GT that you have might well be cooler. How often have you found a fair difference in heat between one chip and another of the same revision?

It does not mean that your Zalman is the creator of that difference. Argue if you want but the only way you could prove it is to put it on my wife's card and test it against the stock one. Or, you could install the GTX version on your card and test it.

Otherwise you can not say with the certainty that you are using at the moment. You could well be correct but with the evidence you have at the moment, you can not use the certainty that you are in point of fact using. Well, you can, but it is BS then.

I would install the AS5+ but I am too lazy to take it out of her case when it is running so cool anyway.

LOL

Maybe when I build the two Conroes and toss these three systems off I will do so.

The Zalman isn't much cheaper than that, though. It's not a crazy option. I've thought about trying it out, but I hate the fact that it takes up 2 PCI slots.
